	Using SWBTracker over the Internet Does SWBTracker work in a browser? SWBTracker does not utilize a browser-based client for remote users. All SWBTracker users, local or remote, use the standard SWBTracker Windows application to connect to the database. A database server application is run on the computer where the SWBTracker database is stored, and if that computer is connected to the internet, local and remote users can share the same data regardless of where they are connecting from. What is required to make the SWBTracker database accessible over the internet? You'll need SWBTracker installed on your workstations (local or remote) and the database server application installed on a server connected to the internet. Your remote users will require a high-speed internet connection in order to get the most benefit out of SWBTracker over the internet. If you do not wish to set up or maintain an internet file server for the SWBTracker database, we can suggest third-party companies who specialize in hosting our database engine's server at extremely affordable rates. You simply sign up, upload your database, and start tracking! What type of internet connection is required? For maximum productivity, we recommend a high-speed internet connection such as cable, DSL, or T1. Analog dial-up connections and ISDN lines are not recommended for use with SWBTracker over the internet. How fast will it run over the internet? Because connections over the internet are usually not as fast as connections to a local file server on a LAN, you can expect SWBTracker to run more slowly over the internet than it would over a LAN. The level of performance you will see using SWBTracker over the internet will depend many factors, most importantly the speed of your connection to the file server. What is the cost of the SWBTracker Database Server? The database server is very affordable. The current pricing for the server application is listed here. Can I try the internet connection feature before I purchase a server license? Yes. Upon request, we can send you a database server evaluation license that will allow you to use the database server for a limited time without any other limitations on the functionality of the program.
